Charski, Evgeni Gavrilovich ( 1919 – 1993 )
Charski was born in 1919 in Rostov-on-Don. In 1934 he enterd the Rostov Art College. By 1939, after graduating, he continued his art education at Repir Art University in Leningrad. In 1951 he began studying with art professor R. Frenz. Charski was honored as a leading artist in 1952 and became a member of the Russian Union of Artists, the most important organization in Russia in the 1940’s and 50’s. Since 1954 his paintings have become a part of the permanent collection of the Russian Museum in Leningrad, The Moscow Art Museum in Moscow, The Rostov Art Museum in Rostov-on-Don and numerous private collections in Russia and abroad.
